THE BENEFITS OF WALKING ARE FAR GREATER THAN BURNING A FEW CALORIES!

If more people understood the benefits of walking, I wonder if we would have such an issue with our Healthcare system today?

Today the United States is facing the highest incidence of obesity, disease and orthopedic injury than ever before.

Amazingly, we are experiencing these challenges with the greatest number of medical doctors and advanced medical technologies available in the world.

With this information it is clear we need to make every effort possible to be responsible for our own health.

If you have been following Food First Wellness, you know that I promote optimal health with an improved lifestyle, focusing on Food First. That lifestyle includes: nutrition, sleep, toxic chemicals, and exercise.

One component of a smart exercise program can be walking. I normally recommend a walking program for my clients when I believe it will benefit their stress levels. The benefits of walking can also be seen in a handful of other areas of one’s health as well.

METABOLISM

Walking uses the integrated use of our arms, legs and torso

For the de-conditioned, it can greatly improve metabolism

Improves efficiency in the body’s use of nutrients

Increased desire for water intake

CIRCULATION

Improves circulation of blood, lymph and Synovial fluid

Improved immune system

MOBILIZATION OF INTERNAL ORGANS

Diaphragmatic contractions massage the internal organs

Keeps the internal organs mobile and healthy

Being sedentary leads to constipation (which among other issues, can cause back and sciatic pain)

THE P-M-E-S CONNECTION

Your Physical being has a great influence on your Mental, Emotional and Spiritual being

Improved Mental clarity

Improved Mental, Emotional and Spiritual well being

You may not feel that you have the time to implement an exercise program into your busy lifestyle. But if you are concerned about your health at all, you NEED to know that the benefits of walking are worth your time and energy.

Your body will thank you!
